Make your own Wedding Rings
Whether you’re having a totally handmade wedding (or just love the idea of a little DIY) making your own Wedding Bands is a great way to ensure that your Wedding Rings are truly personal.
Over the course of a fun, relaxed day you’ll make a pair of wedding rings, from the metal of your choice, in Becca’s fully equipt workshop.
You can make your wedding rings in:
- 9ct White, Yellow or Red Gold
- 9ct White, Yellow or Red Fairtrade Certified Gold
- 14ct Yellow Gold
- 18ct White, Yellow or Red Gold
- 18ct White or Yellow Fairtrade Certified Gold
During the workshop you’ll form your wedding rings by hand, solder them and polish them, ready for your Big Day. You can either make your own rings or make each others rings – and Becca will be there to help you every step of the way.
You don’t need to have any experience of metalwork or jewellery making to get involved, full guidance will be provided on the day, along with plenty of tea & biscuits. You’re free to bring your own lunch or pop out into Penryn or nearby Falmouth to chose one of the local cafes or pubs to eat in.
Classes typically run from 10am to around 3pm (though we won't finish until you're happy with your rings).
Wedding Ring Workshop Extras:
Your rings can be engraved after you've made them with your wedding dates or a message of your choice.
Becca uses a Hand Engraver in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter to provide this service.
Adding wedding dates to a ring costs £25 for a single ring or £40 for a pair. Charges for longer messages are calculated individually.
You're welcome to provide your own materials for the class. Melting down family gold or silver provides a connection to your past through the metal that you've inherited - and is also a great saving for you.
Most gold or silver items are suitable for re-use and Becca can provide extra gold to add to a piece should it be required. You can chose to melt the gold down yourself during your class or deliver it to the workshop ahead of time for Becca to process for you.
Stone settings can be added to the rings that you make after the class.
The costs for additional coloured stones or diamonds will vary from project to project. If you let Becca know in advance what you'd like then she can show you a selection of stones to chose from on the day of your class and work out costs in advance for you.
How to book:
The Wedding Ring workshops cost £240 per couple, plus materials.
The material costs vary from couple to couple and it’s best to visit the workshop before your course to select from Becca’s range of sample materials and get a quote for your metal. You can select a style of band from a range of samples in advance of the class to suit your style and your budget.
