RINGS MADE BY THE HANDS THAT WILL WEAR THEM
A time-honoured marker of marriage and union, wedding rings are a beautiful way to symbolise the connection between two people.
Crafting your own wedding rings amplifies the meaning they hold, bringing you into the very heart of the process. You’ll spend the day together in my workshop by the sea, forming lasting memories as you make the rings you will treasure forever.
You do not need to be a jewellery maker or have any previous experience to make your own rings in these workshops. I’ll guide you carefully through the whole process, welcoming you into my workshop in Penryn, showing you each stage on a sample ring. During the workshop you will work on your own or your partner’s ring, directly in the real metal of your choosing.
The pieces you make are the pieces you’ll take home and wear for a lifetime together.
MAKING YOUR OWN WEDDING RINGS
Your wedding rings can be as unique as you, with many designs to suit both your tastes and desires. With silver, gold, or platinum, there are options to make fitted rings, add hammered textures, and choose between a shiny or matt finish. I can also arrange stone setting or engraving (which is completed after the workshop).
Wedding rings can be made in:
-
Sterling Silver (recycled)
-
9ct Yellow, Red or White Gold (SMO or Fairmined)
-
14ct Yellow Gold (SMO or Fairmined)
-
18ct Yellow, Red or White Gold (SMO or Fairmined)
-
22ct Yellow Gold
-
Platinum
During the workshop you will have exclusive use of the workshop, which is tucked away in Carbon Studios on the historic Penryn High Street. As workshops run privately for one couple at a time, you can select a date to suit you.
If you do not live locally, I recommend making a weekend stay of it, exploring the local area and enjoying your time together; Penryn is just down the coast from Falmouth (which is filled with great pubs and places to stay) and across the river from the beautiful Roseland peninsular.

How it works
CONVERSATION
We start with a gentle chat. Whilst informal, this allows us to discuss dates, materials, and other key details to bring your dreams to life.
Picking wedding rings is a very personal decision. If you're able to visit the workshop you can try on a range of samples; this helps to find the shape, style and finish that's right for you. If you're further afield we can use Google Meet to cover the distance and if needed I can post out silver samples to make sure everything is just right.
In this conversation, we'll explore precious metals, considering function, aesthetics and budget to suit you.
If you’d like to add an extra personal touch, it is also possible to incorporate family jewellery into your new rings.
Bringing inherited precious metal to a wedding ring workshop is a special way to link your wedding rings to your family history. You can blend multiple generations of gold, remember loved ones, and put any broken chains and single earrings from the family jewellery box to good use. We’ll use your silver or gold to give new life to the metal and make something to treasure.
Following the consultation, I'll take time to finalise a precise quote and to source the chosen materials. We’ll set dates for each part of the process, allowing breathing room between the workshop and the wedding to account for hallmarking time and any special extras. We will work this out together.
THE WEDDING RING WORKSHOP
Workshops are available from Tuesday to Sunday at 10am.
We start the day gently, first sitting together around cups of tea whilst I double check your ring sizes, talk you through the day, and hand out aprons. Once everyone is settled the real fun starts. My workshop has all the tools you'll need to transform your precious metal into real, beautiful wedding rings.
Through the day, you will be fully supported and guided. There really is no need for prior experience - I'll be making a sample alongside you and demonstrating every step of the way.
One of my favourite parts of the day is seeing couples happily surprised at their own capabilities, making rings beyond their expectations, excited for the lifetime of wear ahead of them.
FINISHING TOUCHES
Although the workshop may be finished, the rings won’t be just yet.
After our day together, I’ll arrange any stone setting or engraving, and will send your beautiful rings to Birmingham Assay Office to have the metal standard tested and a hallmark applied.
Once the rings are back in my workshop I'll contact you to arrange delivery or collection of your finished, handmade wedding bands.
