BESPOKE JEWELLERY DESIGN
Jewellery is a beautiful way to mark moments in life. The jewellery you wear should feel like an extension of you, reflecting and magnifying who you are as you move through the world.
Commissioning a bespoke design is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to have a piece made uniquely for you or someone you love as a lasting, wearable treasure.
I believe bespoke jewellery is a special connection between the maker and the wearer. I take a collaborative approach to design, drawing on over 15 years of experience to gently guide and bring to life your ideas.
Whether you’d like to alter one of my existing designs or imagine something entirely new, together we will create a piece of your dreams.

How it works
CONVERSATION
Bespoke jewellery design begins with a conversation. This can be in person at my studio in Penryn, or at home over Google Meet. Together, we will develop your ideas and talk through any special features you want to include in the final piece.
This is the ideal time to bring any jewellery you’re thinking of remodelling. I’m very happy to re-use sentimental metal and stones, I just need to check they’re suitable.
I’ll make notes and sketches as we go, laying the foundations of the design for your commission. We’ll talk about the materials I can supply, as well as your budget. (There’s no obligation until a final design is agreed).
DESIGN
As with any creative process, good ideas take a little time.
After our first conversations, I’ll spend some time with the idea and probably let a cup of tea or two go cold while I contemplate. From this, I’ll work on the sketches and develop them into scale drawings of a finished piece (with options for you to choose from if you desire).
At this point I can accurately cost the commission and will give you options to fit your budget. I can also source a selection of gemstones for you to view.
After you have seen the drawings, they can of course be adjusted with your feedback to fine tune the design.
Once the final design is agreed I ask for a 50% deposit to begin work on your commission.
CREATING
With a design dreamed-up and decided on, it’s time to make it real.
Bespoke commissions typically take 8-12 weeks to create and complete. During this process, I’ll work accurately with complete attention to the design that you have agreed on, and can send pictures to you as it comes to life.
When the moment is right in the process, I’ll pause so the piece can be hallmarked. Once finished, I’ll carefully package it in a Becca Williams jewellery box ready for collection or delivery.
The remaining 50% balance is payable once the piece is finished.
A NOTE ON PRICING
One of the first questions you may have is how much a commission might cost. A commission is an entirely unique process based on the individual piece we are creating together.
The price is determined by the commission’s complexity, cost of materials, and the cost of the processes involved, which is accurately calculated during the design stage.
For starting costs, here is a guide to commissioning bespoke and remodelled pieces.
Please note, all my quotes are provided without obligation, with no pressure to make a quick decision.
REMODELLING YOUR OLD JEWELLERY
I’m a believer that the jewellery you own should be pieces that you’ll wear, enjoy and treasure.
As part of bespoke commissions, I can remodel jewellery that you’ve inherited or simply no longer wear, transforming it into a piece you’ll love, gifting it a new lease of life.
